Quality Assurance – Software/System Test Engineer

Denver, CO USA

Vicon is the world leader in motion capture, developing high performance software and hardware products for the entertainment, engineering and medical industries. Vicon products have been used in most major feature films and many games and TV commercials. We have offices in Oxford, Denver and Los Angeles.  This position is located in our Denver office.

 

Summary

We are interested an individual with a solid technical and quality assurance background to evaluate and test new or modified software programs, proprietary hardware and their integration with PC computers assuring that they meet design specifications prior to release. This position will help innovate all phases of systems test and quality assurance of Vicon’s motion capture systems, and will provide support to our development and manufacturing staff.  The ideal candidate must be able to perform and succeed in a fast pace, very interactive, customer-oriented environment.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute existing test plans and modify/update as necessary
  • Provide technical design for software and hardware test strategies, plans, and environments
  • Maintain defect and feature tracking databases
  • Plan and perform in-house test procedures for existing and new equipment
  • Review product documentation for technical accuracy
  • Write technical documentation on testing procedures
  • Maintain system and software configuration and compatibility specifications
  • Set up and maintain hardware and software test environments
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the Computer or Engineering Sciences or equivalent program (such as military training or work experience).
  • One or two years of experience with software or hardware testing are a plus.
  • Knowledge of test methodologies, as well as quality assurance principles and practices
  • Strong Intel/Microsoft-based PC computer skills both hardware and software
  • Basic working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft toolset including Word, Excel, etc.
  • Working knowledge of testing software and hardware together
  • Experience using and developing automated testing procedures
  • Ability to use simple test equipment and understand basic mechanical and circuit drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail

 

 

Travel Requirements

  • Some domestic and international travel may be required
