PRODUCTION AND QUALITY ENGINEER

The Role

The role requires an enthusiastic personable individual, who is keen to contribute to all aspects of the UK Production, QA and Engineering functions.
Working as a member of the UK Production Team, duties will include:

• Improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes.
• Day-to-day management of Manufacturing Registers, Bills of Materials and documentation.
• Investigating and reporting on Quality Costs, e.g. rework and repair
• Application of Lean Manufacturing techniques to assembly and production processes.
• Investigating operational problems affecting production and dealing with them in a systematic and methodical manner.
• Liaison with external national and international suppliers and the Engineering Team.
• Contribute as a core member of new product teams to ensure DFM and DFT practices are considered and to provide smooth transition from prototype to Production.
• Liaison with the Compliance Director to ensure ISO 9001:2000, Medical Directive ISO13485:2003 procedures and current working practices are adhered to.
• Production of Quality Plans, FMEA’s and Risk Analysis, as appropriate
• Use of CAD to support the Engineering Team when necessary.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this position you will be a degree qualified Engineer with experience within a technology led manufacturing or assembly environment.
Experience of using CAD, ERP and document management systems is an essential requirement.
Experience of supplier liaison would be advantageous.

VICON EMBEDDED SYSTEMS DEVELOPER

OMG plc is a leading technology company working in motion capture, camera tracking and a variety of video analysis applications. Job Description:

• Realtime embedded low level C programmer.

A Product Manager is sought to join the Vicon team in this new position based in Oxford. This post would suit an applicant with a broad experience with the leaders in the motion capture industry and will increase market adoption of Vicon products within new markets and have a deep understanding of the challenges of using motion capture systems in a variety of applications within existing markets.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Develop market requirements documents (MRD) for each project based on market research, competitive analysis, understanding of the market, customer requirements and feedback from our sales and support organizations
• Act as a chief customer conduit and continuously seek to understand the important problems customers are trying to solve.
• Validate requirements regularly with clients and customer-facing organizations.
• Proactively conceive, document and drive the creation of new features with the foresight to see and plan for the consequences of decisions.
• Prioritize product feature requirements.
• Work with marketing, development, QA, documentation and other product managers to define the scope of each feature
• Write detailed product requirements documents (PRD)/ functional specifications to be used by development, QA and documentation.
• Manage overall product releases with the goal of successful and timely deliverables.
• Provide product information to meet a variety of internal and external needs including internal training, sales collateral, press releases and web site copy.
• Ensure that solutions meet user and business requirements.
• Manage internal and third-party partner relationships as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years within a field or fields using motion capture technology
• Track record of combining different technologies within motion capture to provide innovation
• Thorough understanding of all existing Vicon markets
• Higher level degree in a computer science, engineering or biomechanics
• Good communication skills having experience of talking to large audiences
• A good working knowledge of the processes and tools used within software engineering and preferably a reasonable knowledge of C++
• A good understanding of hardware technologies relating to video
• A strong ability to engineer complex architecture from discrete building blocks and the ability to breakdown problems into their constituent parts

VFX Application specialist


An exciting opportunity has arisen at Vicon’s Oxford headquarters, for the role of "VFX Application Specialist" which carries with it a great deal of responsibility and opportunity for success. The post is a client-facing position which is representative of Vicon to the world’s entertainment industry companies.

The Role:
• Setting up new character rigs for real-time pre-visualization and final post processing for customer demonstrations.
• Liaising with clients and aiding with the preparation of client character rigs for motion capture and animation.
• Creating and setting up post process pipelines using VICON proprietary tools, alongside traditional animation packages.
• 20-40% travel to customer sites for hardware installation and software training.
• Assisting high level animation studio motion capture teams with 3D motion data/animation processing
• Support for existing customers by phone and email.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• A degree or equivalent experience in a relative field.

We are looking for someone to bridge the gap between business development, sales and marketing. This position is about doing it all and being able to truly contribute to the success of our company. We need a professional with experience in maintaining contact management databases (experience with Sales Force a plus), researching new market opportunities, coordinating email and direct mail campaigns – including tracking and follow-up, and sales reporting, but most off all someone who gets things done.
